Sr Project Manager and Project Manager opening – Heavy Civil Construction
A leading general contractor with a strong presence across Northern California is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil infrastructure projects. Known for its commitment to safety, quality, and community, this company delivers high-impact projects across transportation, utilities, and public works sectors.
What You’ll Do:
+ Lead and manage heavy civil construction projects from planning through close-out, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, safety regulations, and financial goals.
+ Oversee multidisciplinary teams, including project engineers and field staff, while coordinating resources, subcontractors, and procurement for infrastructure-focused builds.
+ Drive project execution plans, including constructability reviews, permitting, scheduling, and logistics, with a strong focus on civil engineering deliverables.
+ Manage cost control and change orders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely pay applications, and alignment with unit price and lump sum contract structures.
+ Ensure compliance with QA/QC and safety protocols, conducting inspections and enforcing site-specific safety programs in coordination with superintendents and safety managers.
+ Maintain strong client relationships, leading progress meetings, preparing status reports, and serving as the primary contact during construction and post-construction warranty phases.

Requirements
+ Minimum 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management with work on infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, grading, and concrete structures
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field a plus.
+ Strong understanding of construction engineering principles, codes, and standards, with hands-on experience managing field operations and subcontractors.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with clients, designers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management tools; familiarity with unit price and lump sum contracts.
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
