Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Billing Clerk to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing invoice preparation, client communications, and compliance with billing guidelines. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in legal billing software and a commitment to accuracy in financial processes.
Responsibilities:
• Review and validate time and expense entries to ensure compliance with client billing standards.
• Generate, edit, and finalize invoices using specialized legal billing software.
• Submit invoices through electronic billing platforms, including systems such as Bill4Time and Legal Tracker.
• Collaborate with clients and attorneys to address and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries related to invoices and payments.
• Audit billing records to confirm adherence to legal and client-specific requirements.
• Create detailed reports on billing activities and accounts receivable for internal review.
• Manage client billing data across electronic platforms, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
• Monitor payment statuses and follow up on overdue accounts to support accounts receivable processes.
• Stay informed about client billing agreements and legal policies to ensure accuracy and compliance. Requirements • Proven experience with legal billing software such as Elite Enterprise, Aderant, or Bill4Time.
• Familiarity with electronic billing platforms like Tymetrix and Counsellink.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and attorneys.
• Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies effectively.
• Knowledge of client billing agreements and legal compliance requirements.
• Experience in managing accounts receivable and following up on overdue payments.
