• IT Generalist

    Robert Half Technology (Houston, TX)


    Description

    We are seeking a versatile and hands-on IT Generalist to support and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a broad understanding of both hardware and software systems, end-user support, network administration, and basic cybersecurity principles.

     

    + Provide technical support to users across hardware, software, networking, and system-related issues.

    + Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, phones, and peripheral devices.

    + Support user accounts, permissions, and security through Active Directory and Microsoft 365.

    + Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of networks, servers, backups, and IT systems.

    + Troubleshoot connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN) and escalate when necessary.

    + Maintain and update IT documentation, asset inventory, and service logs.

    + Support software deployments, patches, and updates across the organization.

    + Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including provisioning and decommissioning devices.

    + Collaborate with vendors or managed service providers as needed.

    + Contribute to IT projects including system upgrades, cloud migrations, or cybersecurity initiatives.

    Requirements

    + 4+ years of experience in an IT support or generalist role.

    + Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments.

    + Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications.

    + Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).

    + Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.

    + Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

    + Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
