Description
Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed client in the property management industry to find a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in accounts payable and a strong understanding of property management practices. In this position, you’ll be responsible for processing and reconciling vendor payments, verifying invoices, and supporting the finance team to ensure efficient AP operations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, correct coding, and compliance with contract terms.
+ Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including matching purchase orders, vendor bills, and approvals.
+ Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
+ Process weekly payment batches (checks, ACH, and wire transfers), ensuring proper documentation and approvals are in place.
+ Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9 forms, contact details, and payment preferences.
+ Support month-end close by providing AP-related reconciliations and necessary reports.
+ Collaborate with the property management team to track expenses, budgets, and payments for multiple properties.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, operating procedures, and legal regulations.
+ Respond promptly to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status.
Requirements
+ Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or similar roles, preferably within the property management industry.
+ Familiarity with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) is highly desirable.
+ Proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to oversee high-volume invoice processing.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and vendors.
+ A proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
