Description We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Attorney to join our Immigration Removal Department in Austin, Texas. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment while contributing to meaningful immigration defense cases. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in removal proceedings and be fluent in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including bond hearings, master calendar appearances, and merits hearings.

• Conduct legal consultations and provide expert advice on immigration matters.

• Prepare court applications, motions, briefs, and appeals with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Visit detained clients in jails and detention facilities to provide legal support.

• Review and verify applications and documentary evidence for completeness and compliance.

• Perform thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.

• Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and team members.

• Ensure timely filing of legal documents and meet all court deadlines.

• Collaborate with colleagues to foster a team-oriented work environment. Requirements • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience actively practicing removal defense in a high-volume setting.

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar; licenses from other states are also welcome.

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.

• Strong knowledge and expertise in immigration law and removal defense.

• Exceptional legal writing and research skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word; experience with Prima law case management system is preferred.

• Reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license.
