    Within Amazon, the Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is responsible for creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facilities management, and operations — all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon.

     

    We are seeking a content writer with strong business acumen to join the GREF Communications team. This individual will be responsible both for creating original content and editing content produced by other team members. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and editing skills, high editorial judgment, and keen attention to detail. They will excel at taking technical, programmatic information and turning it into human-centered editorial stories, quick-hit news updates, and social media posts that inform, engage, and inspire GREF employees.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Write and edit content for various GREF comms channels including the intranet, editorial news site, newsletters, and social media/Slack.

    • Help manage and evaluate story/content pitches from stakeholders across GREF and provide guidance and mentorship on content outlines, briefs, and drafts.

    • Develop writing tools, guidelines, and resources to raise the bar on GREF comms content.

    • Help produce and publish content for GREF comms channels.

    • Become an expert in the GREF brand tone and voice and help ensure it is consistent.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, English, journalism, or a related field and 5+ years of equivalent experience.

     

    - Editorial background with exceptional skills in copy editing and content writing.

     

    - Experience using content management platforms.

     

    - Strong portfolio of writing samples.

     

    - Experience collaborating across teams and managing multiple stakeholders with diverse interests.

     

    - Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience establishing, tracking, and analyzing metrics to gauge engagement with content.

     

    - Experience managing and writing content for a major news outlet.

     

    - Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into human-centered storytelling.

     

    - Strong understanding of Slack and experience developing content for that platform.

     

    - Experience writing scripts and/or developing or editing multimedia (videos, photos).

     

    - Experience developing and managing content for a website, especially an intranet.

     

    - Experience managing concurrent projects, preferably using project management tools.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
