Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing vendor accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations within the legal industry.
Responsibilities:
• Create and manage vendor accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and maintenance of files.
• Verify invoices for accuracy by checking quantities, pricing, purchase orders, and receipt confirmations.
• Process vendor invoices for approval and entry into NetSuite, maintaining up-to-date vendor data.
• Handle employee expense reports, reimbursements, and corporate credit card reconciliations while resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain records of fixed asset purchases, track depreciation, and assist with month-end reporting and journal entries.
• Ensure timely submission of month-end transactions and support closing procedures.
• Generate financial reports using Excel and navigate NetSuite effectively to manage system processes.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment statuses and account balances.
• Calculate and apply sales/use tax to purchases while managing annual tax filings and lien waivers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and maintain organized filing systems for invoices and supporting documentation. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or accounts payable role.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and Excel, with the ability to generate reports and navigate systems.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, ACH transactions, and check runs.
• Familiarity with month-end close activities and fixed asset tracking.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax calculations and compliance.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
