Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. This position offers the opportunity to work within the non-profit sector, contributing to critical financial operations and maintaining accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.

• Manage sales tax filings, including accurate calculation and timely submission.

• Record and maintain journal entries to support the accuracy of financial statements.

• Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations and account analysis.

• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM to track financial data and generate reports.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and address discrepancies in accounting records.

• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Ensure all financial practices align with organizational policies and industry standards. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and sales tax management.

• Strong understanding of general ledger processes and journal entries.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Dynamics CRM for financial tracking and reporting.

• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data effectively.

• Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and auditors.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
