Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team near Lemont, Illinois. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial operations by managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately record and reconcile customer payments received through various methods, ensuring proper allocation to accounts and invoices.
• Monitor and manage overdue accounts by following up with customers, resolving payment discrepancies, and addressing past-due balances.
• Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries regarding invoices, payment schedules, and account details.
• Prepare partial and final lien waivers along with other construction-related documentation to facilitate timely customer payments.
• Generate and present reports on the status of past-due accounts to management for review.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to resolve billing issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Analyze internal and external data to recommend credit limits for customers and process sales orders accordingly.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support the Accounts Receivable department and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements
• A minimum of 3-5 years of accounts receivable experience, with preference given to candidates familiar with the construction industry.
• Knowledge of construction billing processes, including progress billing, lien waivers, change orders, and retention.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a self-starter mindset.
