    Duties Description Under the direction of the Golf Course Manager 2, SG-18, the incumbent will perform journey level work in the primary trade of small engine repair and perform skilled and semi-skilled levels of work in plumbing, electrical, and masonry. Duties include but are not limited to: • Maintain and repair golf course equipment such as mowers, utitility vehicles, sprayers, heavy equipment, and specialized turf maintenance equipment. • Document completed work, including preventative maintenance, and maintaining accurate records in an inventory management system.• Supervise, train, and monitor the daily activities of permanent and seasonal staff to ensure tasks are completed safetly in accordance with established policies, codes, and procedures.• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment including dump trucks, aerial trucks, loaders, aerators, excavators, and other construction or maintenance equipment.• Conduct maintenance and repair of the golf course irrigation system, including pipes, heads, valves, and electrical components. • Maintain and repair plumbing ystems in buldings, including potable water lines, bath facilities, and waste lines.• Carry out winterization and spring start-up procedures for both irrigation systems (including pumps) and building facilities.• Perform concrete work, including pouring patios and repointing various signs and walls.• Perform electrical work as needed including:o Maintenance on the golf storage barn and other buildings.o Maintenance on electric golf equipment and charging stations.o Rewiring and basic electrical work in the clubhouse, including kitchen appliances and lighting system.

     

    Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience under a journey-level trades person, which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.

     

    Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must have knowledge of golf irrigation systems, potable water lines, and bathroom facilities.• Must have a working knowledge of the safe operation of hand and stationary shop tools.• Must have the ability to operate a variety of driven machinery.• Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.• Must be available to work a variable schedule, including weekends as needed.
