This is a Full time 40 hours/week position working with Adults and Adolescents, with regularly scheduled weekly day call assignments until 4 pm.

No nights or weekends required however there is the potential to cover nights or weekends for extra compensation.

Attending staff to take day call at times.

Responsibilities Include:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner functions as the attending and will be responsible for care and treatment for the patients in our Inpatient and/or Residential psychiatric programs in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care. The responsibilities include: the psychiatric evaluation, suicide risk assessments, medication management, progress notes, collaboration with outpatient providers, meeting with the family and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

Education:

+ Graduate of an accredited program.

Experience:

+ Minimum of 2 years' prior relevant experience required

+ Experience in inpatient level of care, preferred

Licensure/Certification:

+ Licensed in the state of Massachusetts in Advanced Nursing

+ Current CPR Certification

Knowledge:

+ Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management

Required competencies:

+ Strong organizational and communication skills

+ Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently

+ Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment

+ Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment

+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Supervision Received:

+ Reports to Medical Director

Environmental Conditions:

+ General hospital environment.
