Location: 7000 Siemens Drive, Wendell, NC 27591 Position Title: Director of Engineering Salary $180,000 / Year Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week Summary of Duties: Lead Engineering team in the tendering, design, development, and implementation of LV MCC (Low Voltage Motor Control Center) systems and solutions. Oversee the entire engineering process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality LV MCC solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards. Lead and manage LV MCC engineering managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, project management, and manufacturing, to define project requirements and deliverables. Drive design and development of LV MCC systems, including component selection, schematics creation, and layout design. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations throughout the engineering process. Oversee bidding and tendering processes, including the preparation of technical proposals, cost estimations, and bid documentation. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure successful project completion. Review and establish engineering processes and documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. Oversee testing and validation activities to verify the performance and reliability of LV MCC systems. Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders, resolving engineering-related issues and inquires in a timely manner. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in LV MCC engineering and incorporate relevant advancements into Siemens’ engineering processes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, promoting innovation, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of LV MCC design and development. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Hybrid work permitted, must report to office at least 3 days/wk. Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems Engineering, or a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the job offered, or as an Engineering Manager, Low Voltage Engineer, Power Distribution Engineer, or a related occupation. The position requires twelve (12) years of experience with the following skills: Power distribution systems design principles, components, and systems architecture; Electrical engineering fundamentals, including power distribution, control systems, and circuitry; Electrical Engineering software tools, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or ETAP; Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders; Problem solving abilities and ability to identify and resolve technical challenges; Relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NEC and UL requirements. The position requires two (2) years of experience in a managerial role. The position requires knowledge of mechanical engineering software platforms, such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Hybrid work permitted, must report to office at least 3 days/wk.
