Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Planner / Logistics Manager to join our growing team in the fast-paced fiber internet industry. This critical role is responsible for managing the planning, procurement, and distribution of materials required for fiber network deployment, installs, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain logistics, materials planning, and vendor coordination to ensure the seamless flow of materials and on-time project delivery.
Essential Functions:
+ Help develop and manage demand forecasts for fiber, conduit, hardware, and related materials based on project schedules and network rollout plans.
+ Maintain optimal inventory levels across multiple warehouse and field locations.
+ Collaborate with manufacturers, distributors, project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align material availability with installation timelines.
+ Support and generate purchase orders and work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
+ Oversee the warehousing, storage, and transportation of materials to office, endpoint partner, or job sites.
+ Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
+ Implement systems to track shipments, material usage, and replenishment cycles.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers of fiber-optic and telecom infrastructure components.
+ Evaluate supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues as they arise.
+ Optimize cost, quality, and delivery terms across existing partners and open new relationships.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, lead times, and costs.
+ Facilitate manufacturer support / training across product lines.
+ Generate regular reports on material availability, usage, shortages, and excess inventory.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
+ Strong knowledge of fiber-optic infrastructure components and supply chain best practices.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
+ Experience with just-in-time (JIT) inventory and lean supply chain principles is a plus.
Other Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or equivalent industry experience (8+ years).
+ 3–5+ years of experience in material planning or logistics management, preferably in the telecommunications or construction industry.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000- $100,000. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
