Position Summary
The Residential Account Manager for South Jersey Gas is responsible for growing residential customer conversions through proactive sales outreach, contractor engagement, and community involvement. This field-based role focuses on converting homes to natural gas and supporting customers through the conversion journey.
Essential Functions:
+ Execute targeted sales strategies to convert on-main prospects to natural gas service.
+ Leverage cold calling, door-to-door outreach, and neighborhood canvassing to generate leads.
+ Provide clear guidance to customers on the conversion process and expected timelines.
+ Develop partnerships with contractors and trade professionals to build a strong referral network.
+ Track all customer and sales activity using Salesforce and maintain accurate documentation.
+ Promote energy efficiency program benefits during the onboarding process.
+ Attend sales trainings, team meetings, and community engagement events.
+ Work in the field, including site visits in varying environmental conditions.
Qualifications
Required Background:
+ Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
+ Master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience
+ Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Skills:
+ Sales experience, with a strong background in direct outreach and conversion-based selling.
+ Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
+ Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
+ Strong initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work independently.
