The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and directing the routine functions of the HR department, with a significant focus on employee relations, performance management, and recruiting efforts. This role requires assisting with training and development of leaders and managing the termination process in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Provide support and guidance to HR team members, management, and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive HR questions and issues.
+ Administer routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations and investigating allegations.
+ Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including California, and recommended best practices.
+ Provide counsel and training to management on HR-related policies and procedures.
+ Keep abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
+ Assist with the application and interpretation of policies and procedures across the organization.
+ Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
+ Manage and monitor unemployment claims, appeals, and charges.
+ Lead the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, especially for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
+ Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
+ Support HR training programs, including facilitating learning and development initiatives for internal development opportunities.
+ Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements.
+ Create a safe and positive working environment where employees feel included, recognized, and heard.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
+ 5+ years of human resources management experience.
+ Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience.
+ Strong internal and external customer service focus.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
+ Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
+ Positive attitude and self-motivated.
+ Ability to travel when needed.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
+ Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS/Payroll and related systems.
+ SHRM or HRCI certification desired.
Work Environment
The position is onsite, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.26/hr.
