    The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Miami, solicits applications for one full-time Lecturer position. The Department is particularly interested in applicants’ ability to teach courses in Introductory Biology (lecture and laboratory), Physiology, Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics. Please know that teaching is expected to be in person unless you are assigned to a course for which the approved modality was online since the time that registration opened to students.

     

    Duties for instructors will include teaching courses at the undergraduate level, and a minimum of three hours per week of office hours per course to meet with students. Minimum qualifications: one-year of college-level teaching experience is preferred; a Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline relevant to the course being taught is required, along with thorough knowledge of the relevant sub-field, and competence in the general area of Biology. An appointment/offer is contingent upon student demand (enrollments) and available funding. This is a 9-month appointment, beginning August 15, 2025, and is renewable, depending upon student teaching needs, budget, and performance.

     

    An essential function and requirement of this position is in-person, face-to-face teaching for all classes.
