Job Overview
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.
Job Responsibilities
+ This position is responsible for maintaining, interpreting, and reporting on key data & verification activities in various systems.
+ Intermediate Microsoft office skills; including Excel and PowerPoint are required.
+ Conduct verification inspections for post sanitation and pre-operation cleans.
+ Conduct pre-operational and environmental monitoring swabs
+ Conduct plating of environmental monitoring swabs
+ Monitor room, cooler and incubator temperatures.
+ Conduct routine testing and monitoring of product and packaging attributes to established specifications
+ Conduct daily review of labels and retain product
+ Conduct real time review of production records
+ Conduct daily line inspections.
+ Conduct routine data entry and filing of paper work
+ All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures
+ All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.
+ Maintain company confidentiality.
+ The pay for this position is $23.30/hr to $23.95/hr. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations .
Required Education and Experience
+ High School Degree
+ Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
+ Basic Computer skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field
+ SAP experience.
+ HACCP Certification.
Working Conditions
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Work is performed in a lab setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 60-80 degrees F.
