Our products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion. The **Technical Sales Representative** will contact established and prospective customers in an assigned territory for the purpose of selling Chemetall surface treatment chemicals. This individual will provide complete sales and service which ensures safe quality product performance while maximizing profitability within their assigned territory.
This position will cover the Wichita, KS, Tulsa, OK, and Lincoln, NE area.
This position offers a company car, laptop, phone, and all travel expenses covered by the company; travel can be anywhere from 50-60%.

+ Understanding the business activities of accounts in the territory and applying knowledge of the customer’s internal operation to tailor sales presentations and sales proposals to the account’s specific needs.
+ Managing territory profitability by reviewing territory compensation margins, providing margin improvement by product selection and optimum pricing. Assures that technology provided within the territory strengthens the company’s competitive position within the accounts.
+ Planning a weekly itinerary of calls to allocate time effectively and to ensure proper territory coverage by industry, geography and account potential.
+ Calling on established and prospective customers, determines their needs and sells appropriate products to markets.
+ Being able to physically service and call on existing and prospective customers.
+ Making sales presentations, both orally and in written and answering customers’ questions concerning product use and providing pricing quotes.
+ Attaining sales plan by securing new customers, increasing sales to current customers and renewing orders.
+ Working closely with customers focusing on building strong business relationships. Maintaining contacts with customers in relation to their service requirements. Providing information on new products, methods, techniques and other general information such as safety and disposal.
+ Training customers and insuring proper and safe use of Chemetall materials.
+ Maintaining records of the activities in the territory as required by management and those records necessary for successful performance.
+ Reporting competitive activities that impact sales in the territory.
+ Preparing and submitting call reports, exception reports, and in-plant service reports, as required. Forwarding reports to appropriate business unit for inclusion into customer’s file. Improving technical knowledge of Chemetall materials through self-study and participation in professional societies.
If you have...
+ Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Business is preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience with business acumen, customer service, sales, account management, and territory managment is required.
+ Outside B2B sales experience working with specialty chemicals / surface treatment (paint pretreatments, wastewater treatments, metalworking fluids, etc.) is preferred.
+ Comfortable presenting and ability to conduct technical sales presentations and technical product trainings is required.
+ Creating sales proposals and managing customer contracts is required.
+ New Business Development: new customer acquisitions, "sales hunter" mentality while using continuous up/cross-selling techniques to increase sales growth within your territory.
+ Act as a technical consultant for Chemetall products; will learn and understand Chemetall's product portfolio, product process, and the industries we service.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Valid driver's license in good standing since a company car will be provided.
+ Travel for this position is 50-60% with occasional overnight travel within your territory.
