Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves performing clinical tasks such as taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, and more. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities.

Responsibilities

+ Take and record medical histories and vital signs.

+ Explain treatment procedures to patients.

+ Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform swab testing.

+ Perform basic laboratory tests on the premises.

+ Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.

+ Arrange examining room instruments and equipment.

+ Clean and organize waiting and examining rooms.

+ Instruct patients about medications and special diets.

+ Authorize drug refills as directed and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy.

+ Prepare patients for x-rays.

Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ 1+ years of Medical Assistant or hospital experience.

+ Proficiency in medical assisting and electronic health records.

Work Environment

This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional extended hours until 5:30 PM.

There are no weekend or holiday shifts required. The work environment is patient-focused, fostering a sense of acceptance and compassion, regardless of nationality or immigration status.

Locations: The role involves floating between various locations, including Hartford, East Hartford, Farmington, and Glastonbury, with schedules provided well in advance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $49920.00/yr.
