Job Title: Construction Materials Technician (CMT)️ Position Overview
We’re looking for skilled and detail-driven Construction Materials Technicians to join our team and support our field inspection operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision and enjoys hands-on testing to ensure that all construction materials meet the highest standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
+ Analyze civil and structural plans to identify specifications relevant to assigned work
+ Perform on-site material tests and document field observations as required by the project
+ Submit daily field reports detailing testing activities and findings
+ Communicate non-compliance issues to appropriate site leadership
+ Maintain, clean, and calibrate assigned testing equipment in accordance with standards
+ Safely transport, operate, and care for a nuclear density gauge per guidelines outlined in the Radiation Safety Program
• Core Competencies
+ Construction materials testing, including soil sampling and concrete analysis
+ Inspection and quality assurance procedures
+ Operation of nuclear density gauges
+ Report writing and documentation
+ Familiarity with testing of concrete, soils, and masonry
+ Certifications such as ACI, ICC, NICET, or NCDOT are a plus
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
+ Academic background preferred (engineering or related field)
+ Prior construction or field engineering experience
+ Excellent written communication skills for technical reporting
+ Ability to manage confidential test data with accuracy and integrity
+ Comfortable working with standard software and learning custom applications
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Professional demeanor, especially under pressure or in fast-paced settings
+ Ethical work practices and commitment to safety
+ Must hold a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate company vehicles
Work EnvironmentThis role combines office-based documentation with active fieldwork. Candidates must be adaptable to diverse work settings and consistently follow our safety and operational protocols.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
