Water/Wastewater Engineer – Mid-Level
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary Range: $90,000 – $160,000 annually (based on experience and licensure)

You’ll work on high-impact projects involving the treatment, conveyance, and storage of wastewater, recycled water, and potable water—helping communities thrive through innovative engineering.
• Key Responsibilities
+ Design and analyze water and wastewater treatment systems
+ Perform hydraulic modeling and system calculations (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS preferred)
+ Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
+ Write technical reports and integrate input from multidisciplinary teams
+ Navigate environmental permitting processes (SDWA, NPDES, Title 22)
+ Conduct field studies, pilot testing, and site analysis
+ Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
+ Provide construction administration and support site visits
+ Engage with clients and potentially mentor junior engineers and CAD staff
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
+ 5–15 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
+ Valid PE license (California preferred; out-of-state acceptable if CA licensure is attainable)
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus)
+ Strong technical writing and communication skills
+ Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including SDWA, NPDES, and Title 22
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Desired Skills
+ Experience mentoring junior staff or managing small teams
+ Familiarity with InfoWater, BioWin, and wellhead treatment systems
+ Business development or proposal writing experience
+ Hands-on experience with sustainable design practices and certifications

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
