Position Description
Metro Nashville’s Information Technology Services Department is seeking a highly motivated data analyst to support and grow Metro’s enterprise analytics program. This program aims to expand the adoption and impact of data-informed decision-making across the Metro Nashville government. The selected candidate will play a key role in helping scale the program by supporting Tableau as an enterprise analytics solution. This position will work closely with Metro’s Analytics Lead, internal technical and project teams, as well as stakeholders throughout the agency to prepare, organize, protect, analyze and visualize data assets to enable enhanced data driven decision making. This position will be responsible for the development of both internal facing and public facing dashboards. This position will serve as a backup Tableau application administrator and will contribute to the platform’s ongoing evolution. Additionally, Metro is in the process of evaluating the feasibility of migrating from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud, so this role will be involved in that evaluation and (potential) migration.
Metro Information Technology Services (ITS) is the central IT provider for the 60 departments and agencies of the Metro Government with a mission to “lead the delivery of exceptional technology, service, and solutions.” ITS staff members deliver 33 separate service lines to our partners within Metro Government. These services support the delivery of services to Nashville’s residents and visitors.
