Summary

The Operations Manager position will support their assigned district with all operational needs. This position will ensure tasks are completed correctly, safely, and efficiently. This position will ensure seamless communication between senior leadership, operational teams, business development team and customers with a high focus on communication between field and BD team. This position will be responsible for developing supervisors and technicians as well as building and maintaining a strong culture within their district. A successful candidate will be someone with a strong track record leading teams. This candidate will have exceptional communication and leadership skills as well as strong strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

+ Interact and build rapport with assigned employees

+ Train and develop technician’s skills

+ Locate and mark underground utility lines

+ Assist with Vacuum Excavation teams

+ Meet with clients to discuss projects and complete projects

+ Troubleshoot difficult locates / Vac Projects with technicians

+ Build a strong team culture by serving as a positive role model

+ Ensure technicians have adequate inventories/supplies

+ Complete JBOs in a timely manner and coach any area of concern

+ Review technicians’ daily workload and analyze for areas of improvement

+ Thoroughly investigate damages as dispatched

+ Ensure policies and procedures are followed

+ Wear appropriate PPE and follow established safety procedures and policies

Requirements

+ 3+ years of leadership experience preferred

+ 3+ years of locate experience required

+ Valid driver's license and safe driving record required

+ Ability to exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Exhibits solid leadership skills

+ Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

+ Must be able to travel 5-15% of the time

+ Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferred

+ Must be able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds

+ Must be computer proficient

+ Must be available to work overtime and some weekends (as needed)

+ Must pass a drug screen

+ Vacuum Truck experience preferred but not required

+ Experience reading CAD, GIS, & MicroStation files is a plus
