Formulation Scientist – Product Innovation & Development

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Formulation Scientist to lead the development of new product formulations from concept to commercialization. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure product excellence, regulatory compliance, and market relevance.

Key Responsibilities

+ Research and develop innovative product formulations aligned with market trends.

+ Collaborate with sales and marketing to support product development and quoting.

+ Troubleshoot formulation and processing issues in partnership with operations.

+ Prepare and maintain technical documentation and regulatory label content.

+ Source and evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and delivery formats.

+ Present new product concepts and prototypes at internal and external meetings.

+ Ensure adherence to company SOPs and quality control standards.

Essential Skills

+ Strong foundation in formulation science, chemistry, and lab techniques.

+ Proficiency in cGMP standards and quality assurance protocols.

+ Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

+ Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

+ Competence in interpreting technical documents and safety procedures.

+ Strong presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field.

+ Minimum 3 years of hands-on formulation experience in a manufacturing setting.

+ Familiarity with ingredient costing and statistical analysis methods.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and formulation-related software tools.

Work Environment

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted (or 100 lbs with mechanical aid).

+ Requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping.

+ Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

+ Occasional participation in trade shows, media events, and PR activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
