    Here’s What You Need:

    • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required

    • Associate’s degree in computer science, media production, or other technical area preferred

    • 2 Years technology or medical related field required

    • 1 Year Experience with audio/visual support or IT support preferred

    • 2 years EMT or Paramedic experience preferred

    • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Upon Hire preferred Or

    • EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Upon Hire preferred Or

    • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire preferred

    • RN – Registered Nurse experience preferred

    What You Will Do:

    The Simulation Specialist is responsible for ensuring proper operation of simulation center equipment, hardware, software and audiovisual equipment. The Simulation Specialist is responsible for acquisition of inventory and organization of storage spaces.

     

    • Develop technical expertise with all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, trouble-shooting, and repair for all equipment including trouble-shooting equipment and systems problems.

    • Work with manufacturers or vendors to correct equipment deficiencies and ensure system integration.

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations and ensure hardware and software is updated.

    • Monitor equipment performance to ensure proper operation

    • Provide data concerning equipment usage, repair and maintenance to program manager.

    • Develop inventory practices to ensure that levels are maintained in a cost effective way.

    • Develop inventory control procedures to monitor supply levels, allocate costs accurately, and ensure supplies are on hand when needed.

    • Organize the placement of equipment and supplies in store rooms. Utilize sign-out sheets and other record keeping practices to track equipment usage.

    • Research vendors, obtain quotes, and advise program manager in areas of equipment needs.

     

    The Simulation Specialist is responsible for supporting the educational activities of the simulation center.

     

    • Sets-up, operates and troubleshoots clinical simulation technologies and associated audiovisual equipment so that simulation training can run smoothly.

    • Supports instructors in the use of video recording and playback

    • Assist instructors with simulation planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation scenarios

    • Assist with teaching and debriefing

    • Programs mannequins, tests and runs scenarios

    • Assists with enhancement of the simulation experience by suggesting prop placement, wardrobe, set design, and moulage techniques.

    • Provides orientation for non-technical users in proper use of sim lab equipment.

    • Supports promotional efforts of the simulation center by conducting tours, answering questions about simulation center capabilities, and providing demonstrations to prospective clients or financial contributors.

    • Remains current in clinical and simulation best practices
