Depth & Scope:
+ Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
+ Leads and manages risk transformation initiatives with a focus on strengthening risk management frameworks, enhancing technology solutions, and improving reporting capabilities

+ Delivers an effective risk management program through the alignment of risk management strategy and objectives, risk and controls framework, and technology capabilities
+ Drives identification and prioritization of risk transformation agenda and the alignment with the bank strategy and goals
+ Serves as strategic thought leader, continuously challenging the status quo to define and implement a best-in-class risk management function, driving toward industry-leading practices, frameworks, and outcomes
+ Establishes governance structures to provide oversight for risk transformation and remediation efforts
+ Proactively identifies critical dependencies between the various initiatives, provides recommendations for alignment with focus of effectiveness and efficiency
+ Provides oversight and execution over all aspects of execution, including scope definition, project plans creation, establishment of roles and responsibilities, setting of success measures, key performance indicators, and quality benchmarks
+ Drives definition of current and development of target state for risk and control frameworks aligned to best industry practices and regulatory expectations
+ Ensures developed target state and final deliverables confirm to regulatory commitments and expectations
+ Continuously monitors the execution of transformation initiatives to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and accountability across stakeholders and subject matter experts involved in the implementations
+ Executes on the implementation of sustainable solutions that address the root causes of regulatory findings and enhances the overall risk management framework
+ Drives consistency and best practices of project and change management within the Transformation team as well as internal stakeholders
+ Challenges stakeholders throughout regulatory remediation efforts and execution of transformation initiatives to ensure identified solutions and proposed implementation approaches are aligned with strategic objectives
+ Partners with key stakeholders comprised of business lines and functional leaders to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management and alignment with regulatory requirements and non-financial risk management objectives
+ Fosters a culture of partnership, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
+ Monitors all in progress transformation initiatives to proactively escalate potential risk issues and drive timely completion of remediation
+ Establishes and provides senior management reporting to ensure transparency and accountability across all initiatives
+ Creates an environment that drives a high level of performance to build capability across the team
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree required
+ Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent) preferred
+ Project Management certification preferred
+ 15+ years of experience in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, or related roles within banking or the financial services industry.
+ Experience building risk and controls frameworks and risk management technology solutions
+ Proven track record in leading large-scale remediation and transformation programs
+ Demonstrated ability to oversee/manage multiple initiatives, projects or tasks that are often spread over a lengthy time continuum and/or are complex and multi-faceted
+ Strong knowledge of non-financial risk management principles and regulatory requirements in the US banking sector
+ Experience responding to regulatory findings and executing with speed on regulatory remediation efforts
+ Exceptional leadership communication and stakeholder management skills
+ Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and provide actionable solutions
+ Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to manage cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
+ Operates with a high level of integrity, accountability, and maintains resilience under pressure
+ Strategic and analytical thinking with a results-oriented mindset
+ Strong relationship building skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of management throughout the organization
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and the ability to develop business communications calling for specific action
+ Strong ability to analyze information and business situations and effectively collaborate with business partners on overall corporate direction
+ Possesses and operates with a strong Control/Risk Management mindset
+ Thrives in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities
+ Must be skilled in scheduling/delegating activities and prioritizing accountabilities, projects and tasks to ensure proper resourcing to satisfy established deadlines
