Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
Join a family-owned company that partners with farms in Rantoul, IL to distribute premium pork products across the Midwest. As a General Production Worker, you will be part of a team dedicated to the meticulous de-boning of pork items in a non-slaughterhouse facility. You will work with large cuts of meat, ensuring precise cuts to remove bones and excess parts, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
+ Work on production lines in GMP attire, using handheld blades to make precise cuts.
+ Wear protective gloves and wrist guards to ensure safety while handling meat.
+ Stand in designated areas throughout the shift as the conveyor brings meat parts for processing.
+ Operate rollers to trim excess meat off parts as required.
+ Maintain consistency and efficiency in performing repetitive tasks.
+ Adapt to working on different stages of the production line as skills are perfected.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to consistently lift 30 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience in roles requiring prolonged standing throughout the day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Production experience is a plus.
+ Experience in food manufacturing or handling (such as butcher, cook, etc.) is advantageous.
+ Familiarity with working in refrigerated environments.

Work Environment
The facility operates a single first shift from 6am to 2:30pm in a fully refrigerated environment maintained at 36 degrees. Employees adhere to GMP standards, which include wearing hair nets and beard nets. The work involves handling heavy items, with hams weighing approximately 27 pounds each. The facility provides clean smock jackets, and employees are encouraged to wear additional warm clothing such as sweatshirts, hoodies, or hats to stay comfortable.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carpentersville, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
