Job Title: Inventory Technician
Job Description
The Plant Inventory Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of a large-scale construction project by overseeing all activities related to the tracking, counting, and management of plant assets and equipment. This position ensures accurate and timely inventory records, supports logistics and procurement teams, and contributes to efficient resource utilization across multiple job sites.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all plant and equipment inventory, including tools, machinery, and construction vehicles.
+ Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies between actual inventory and system records.
+ Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams to forecast equipment needs and availability.
+ Use inventory management software to monitor usage, location, condition, and maintenance schedules.
+ Track the movement of assets between project sites to ensure accountability and timely deployment.
+ Prepare inventory reports and analysis for upper management to support planning and budgeting decisions.
+ Assist in implementing inventory control processes and identify opportunities for improvements.
Essential Skills
+ Attention to detail.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
+ Ability to pass an MVR and drive a company vehicle.
+ Experience in inventory management or construction logistics.
+ Familiarity with equipment types used in large-scale construction.
+ Proficient in inventory software and Microsoft Excel.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working in landscaping or construction.
+ Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and climb for extended periods while conducting inventory counts across construction sites.
+ Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including tools and equipment.
+ Comfortable working in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
+ Frequent movement between job sites may involve driving and navigating uneven terrain.
+ Requires visual and auditory acuity to identify equipment conditions and communicate effectively in noisy environments.

Work Environment
Candidates will report to the work site trailer and get their daily tasks. They will work independently but can be working next to contractors on the site. The shift is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime after 3:30 pm. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing. Team size includes collaboration with the site supervisor and working independently.

This is a Contract position based out of Schoharie, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
