Job Title: Welder

Job Description

The welder will be responsible for fabricating structural beams and joints used in construction projects. This involves MIG welding steel beams ranging from 1/4" to 3" thickness, using prints and weld symbols. The work is conducted in a fabrication shop, utilizing an overhead crane due to the large size of the beams.

Responsibilities

+ Perform MIG welding on steel beams with thicknesses ranging from 1/4" to 3".

+ Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.

+ Utilize overhead cranes to move large steel beams safely.

+ Conduct metal finishing, forklift operations, and work on fabrication equipment as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in MIG welding with at least 2 years of experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.

+ Experience in structural welding and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience welding within the construction industry or working with large beams or bins for agriculture.

Work Environment

This is a first shift position typically from 6am to 4pm, Monday through Thursday, with additional hours on Fridays during the summer or starting as early as 5am. The fabrication shop is dedicated to safety due to the use of overhead cranes and the handling of large, thick beams for the construction industry.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.50/hr.
