Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures within the plant, including the use of personal protective equipment and following safety protocols. You will read factory work orders and various shipping and receiving documents to understand customer requirements and process information.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor conveyor take-off lines, remove units from the lines, and load units into trailers or storage areas.

+ Check load tags and unit counts to verify accuracy.

+ Inspect finished units during the loading process to ensure they are free from handling damage and that straps are intact.

+ Accurately complete tally sheets to record units loaded into trailers.

+ Maintain organized paperwork and generate accurate bills of lading.

+ Deliver sheet and in-process units to production areas as needed.

+ Maintain clean and organized work areas, storage areas, and aisles.

+ Sweep and clean trailers to ensure only clean trailers are used for products.

+ Take and maintain accurate inventories.

+ Perform receiving duties as needed.

+ Execute other duties as assigned by supervision.

Essential Skills

+ Demonstrated success in safety, attendance, and quality of work.

+ Certified ability to safely operate a forklift truck.

+ Ability to accurately use and read measuring devices.

+ Knowledge of general computer operation.

+ Ability to learn, follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a team member.

Work Environment

The work environment is heavy-duty with open bay doors allowing forklifts to move in and out, creating a non-climate-controlled space. Inside, there are various conveyor systems and machinery for breaking down and recycling paper and cardboard. Safety is paramount to ensure smooth operations. Those unfamiliar with industrial facilities may find this environment challenging. You will enjoy great benefits upon employment, with opportunities for raises. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.95 - $21.95/hr.
