Our Wireless Technology organization is transforming the future of connectivity. We’re doing it by building the country’s first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch. The foundation of a connected world, it’s a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design, build, and support DISH’s enterprise-wide IP/MPLS/SR transport network for a cloud-native platform, including hybrid cloud deployments.
+ Define architecture and lead hands-on implementation of network infrastructure, collaborating across Operations, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
+ Manage AWS networking (e.g., VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway) and on-prem devices (Cisco routers/switches), ensuring integration and continuity.
+ Implement automation and Network as Code practices using Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, and configuration tools (Rancid, GIT).
+ Ensure service reliability and continuity through proactive SPOF elimination, patching, maintenance, and RTO/RPO strategies.
+ Provide Tier 3 support, manage change control, and enable seamless scaling across network infrastructure.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, Master’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience
+ Industry certifications in networking in Routing, Switching
+ Certifications : CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking
+ 14+ years experience in Network operational support (at least 7+ in a large enterprise or carrier space)
+ 7+ years experience with Layer2/3 switching and advanced routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS/SR
Skills & Qualifications:
+ Experience with DC architectures, designs, and management in a Cloud and Hybrid Cloud environment
+ Experience in Network design and management of Cloud and Hybrid cloud infrastructure, rearchitecting the DC environment to synergise with AWS cloud and modernizing the NW landscape is required
+ Understanding of OSI model, routing and switching protocols, network security, IPv4 and IPv6 networking, subnetting, and operational experience
+ Understanding in 5G wireless network architecture
+ Experience in implementing automation in Cloud environments
+ Ability to mentor and train internal technical teams
+ Supports application developers and identifies/solves configuration and environment issues related to the network
+ Considerable AWS and Linux skills, as well as DevOps skills around CI/CD and experience with tools such as GitLab (deploying using runners, etc.)
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $181,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
