Department Summary

Our Wireless Technology team is transforming the future of connectivity by building and enhancing the country’s first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch. Our network is free of the limitations of the past, and flexible to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.

Boost Mobile is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer II to provide hands-on support for the deployment of our nationwide 5G network. This network includes a state of the art IP routing infrastructure utilizing leading edge technologies such as BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, high-speed dark fiber connectivity, and interface speeds up to 400Gbps. You will work as part of our highly skilled team of network engineers contributing to the success of our 5G network building and supporting our nationwide IP network of over 13,000 cell towers on the DISH 5G network.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Independently troubleshoot and resolve network issues, driving efforts to restore service.

+ Collaborate with team members to deliver network changes and support project activities.

+ Follow direction from senior team members for network implementations and operational tasks.

+ Document all changes through formal change requests and methods of procedure.

+ Work cross-functionally with teams supporting 5G infrastructure, including cloud, security, automation, data center, transport, and network operations.

+ Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering is a plus

+ 3+ years of experience in large enterprise or carrier space

+ Network engineering experience in a cloud provider, internet service provider or large enterprise environment

+ Experience with routing protocols such as BGP (Border Gateway Protocol),ISIS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System) and Segment Routing,IPv4 and IPv6 Networking, Cisco IOS, IOS-XR

+ Experience in L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN,MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)

Skills and Qualifications:

+ Professional networking certifications a plus – CCNA or equivalent

+ AWS certifications (Associate level and higher) a plus

+ Solid understanding of the routing protocols,IPv4 and IPv6 Networking, Cisco IOS, IOS-XR

+ Knowledge of AWS services is beneficial, including VPC, EC2, Transit Gateway (TGW), Direct Connect (DX), and general networking concepts

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $83,160.00/Year - $118,800.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
