Job Duties and Responsibilities

**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Maintenance Mechanic** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division. This position will be located at our headquarters in **Germantown, MD** . This role is responsible for ensuring the assigned 24/7 critical facility are maintained and in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Performs office moves and furniture reconfiguration

+ Delivers and assembles office furniture and/or workstations

+ Perform demolition of walls and/or flooring in preparation for repair and/or remodeling

+ Repairs, patches, finishes, and paints premises

+ Repairs furniture, receiver racks and other items as necessary

+ Performs landscaping, snow removal and general cosmetic grounds maintenance as needed

+ Transports trash, waste and recycling bins to the disposal area as needed

+ Sets up tables, chairs and audio-visual equipment for meetings

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

+ Five years of related experience, including the use of standard maintenance-related power tools and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

+ Three years of Commercial and /or industrial maintenance experience required, with 1 year experience in a critical facility

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Good written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

+ May require intermediate computer expertise, including use of database, word processing and spreadsheet applications

+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Essential Job Duties:

+ Will be able to work in all-weather environments, extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mist or poor ventilation) indoors, and outdoors

+ Typical Monday – Friday shift. May require nights, weekends, Holidays.

+ Must be able to sit, stand, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods

+ Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $41,500.00/Year - $52,000.00/Year
