Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Product Manager with a strong background in data engineering to lead our empowered, product-led teams. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and delivery of both data foundation and BDC Partner Connect services ensuring alignment with our business objectives and customer needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, to create products that provide exceptional value and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Strategic Leadership:**
+ Work with BDC Product Management leadership to develop and communicate a clear product strategy and roadmaps around the core BDC foundation services and our upcoming BDC Partner Connect service, in line with the Business Data Cloud and company objectives.
+ Lead the development and execution of product roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives based on customer and partner needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
+ Champion the harmonized product operating model (HPOM) and product-led growth approach, ensuring that product decisions are driven by data and customer insights.
+ **Team Empowerment:**
+ Lead and mentor empowered product teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
+ Drive innovation and experimentation across PM, UX, and development teams to explore new opportunities and solve complex problems.
+ **Data-Driven Product Development:**
+ Leverage your strong background in data engineering to guide the development of data foundation services.
+ Utilize data analytics and metrics to inform product decisions, track performance, and optimize customer outcomes.
+ **Stakeholder Management:**
+ Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including BDC and SAP leadership, SAP LOBs, customers, and key strategic partners (such as Databricks), to ensure alignment and support for product initiatives.
+ Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders, providing transparency and managing expectations.
+ Act as a spokesperson for the product, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, as required.
+ **Continuous Improvement:**
+ Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management and data engineering.
+ Implement and refine processes that enhance the efficiency, quality, and impact of the product development lifecycle.
+ Foster a learning-oriented environment, encouraging teams to share knowledge and continuously upgrade their skills.
Qualifications:
+ Experience: 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role, preferably within a data-driven and technology-focused organization.
+ Technical Expertise: Strong background in data engineering, including hands-on experience with ETL, data pipelines, databases, and analytics platforms. Knowledge of Apache Spark, data lake, delta lake, cloud data warehouse, Object store technologies, and experience in building APIs for data sharing using “zero copy share” techniques such as Delta and Iceberg is highly desired
+ Leadership: Track record of leading and working in cross-functional product teams to achieve ambitious goals.
+ Product Management Skills: Deep understanding of product management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a focus on product-led growth.
+ Strategic Thinking with a bent towards product delivery, adoption, and consumption: Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable product outcomes
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels.
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, especially Computer Science, Engineering, and Data Science. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

**Compensation Range Transparency** : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 192,500 - 420000(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
