Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a **User Engagement (Warfighter Engagement) Specialist - Journeyman** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

Responsibilities:

+ Apply a user-first, mission-aligned approach to foster satisfaction, address system challenges, and support the development of intuitive and resilient capabilities

+ Communicate directly with warfighters and operational users to gather feedback on system performance, user experience, and operational impact

+ Conduct user interviews, field research, and surveys to understand workflows,identifypain points, and evaluate satisfaction with existing tools and systems

+ Analyze qualitative and quantitative user data to generate actionable insights for improving user interfaces, support models, and mission applications

+ Translate user feedback into functional requirements or feature requests, working closely with technical teams, product owners, and program managers

+ Identifyearly signs of user friction or dissatisfaction through behavioral trends, ticket data, or usage metrics, and propose mitigation strategies

+ Recommend enhancements or quick wins that boost usability, accelerate adoption, or align with strategic operational goals

+ Facilitate communication between users and development teams to ensure feedback loops areestablished, expectations are set, and progress is clearly communicated

+ Participate in product testing, feature rollouts, and system demonstrations to gather field validation and drive informed iteration

+ Collaborate with leadership to ensure user engagement strategies align with broader missionobjectivesand operational priorities

Qualifications

Required:

+ Associate’s degree in Communications, Information Systems, Business, or a related field

+ 4–9 years of experience in user engagement, IT service delivery, training, human-centered design, or operations support

+ Experience working in a DoD, TSOC, or military operational environment

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including user documentation and presentation development

+ Familiarity with IT systems, mission applications, or operations conducted in classified environments

+ Experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting on user feedback or operational system usage

Desired:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field

+ Experience supporting CONUS/OCONUS or deployed operations

+ Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, or other ticketing/feedback platforms

+ Exposure to mission planning or tactical operations systems

+ Ability to translate complex technical issues into user-friendly language and materials

+ ITIL v4 Foundation certification or higher

+ Lean Six Sigma (Yellow belt or higher) certification

Clearance:

+ Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

+ DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role

+ CompTIA Security+ CE
