Director of Engineering

+ Responsible to the VP of Integrated Solutions Group for engineering standardization, process improvement, and engineering workforce development
+ Support multidisciplinary engineering across KIHOMAC, including mechanical, structural, electrical, software and systems engineering
+ Work with the Director of Program Management to ensure the KIHOMAC engineering infrastructure supports program execution needs and goals
+ Participate in an engineering council consisting of the lead engineer from each of the KIHOMAC business units to allocate the development of practices and processes
+ Identify and lead the implementation of engineering best practices
+ Support engineering inputs to company critical certifications and audits, to include AS9100, Nadcap, CMMI, and CMMC
+ Provide technical recommendations to program and business leaders on program execution and research & development projects
+ Consult on engineering qualifications for new hires as requested by hiring managers, participate in the hiring process and interviews as required
+ Manage team resource allocation, task distribution, and planning to support current and forecasted programs
+ Ensure the engineering team contributes to business development requirements, providing timely, quality inputsMake recommendations on the rotation or assignment of engineers across the company
+ Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
+ Master’s Degree preferred
Experience:
+ 12+ years of professional experience in the required task area
Security:
+ Must be a US citizen
+ Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Physical Requirements:
+ Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
+ Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
+ Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
+ Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
