_Our client is seeking an experienced_ **_Chiller Technician_** _to support ongoing operations of chilled water systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with large centrifugal chillers, particularly York and Carrier models, and be capable of performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in an industrial environment._
**Job Title:** Chiller Technician – Chilled Water Systems
**Location:** Chapel Hill, NC
**Duration:** 11 Months
**Start Date:** ASAP
**Pay Rate:** $30.00/hr. – $40.00/hr. (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on large centrifugal chillers (York, Carrier).
+ Diagnose and perform repairs on centrifugal chillers, including electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Perform refrigerant leak detection and assist in repairs to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
+ Operate and interpret chiller control panels to ensure optimal system performance.
+ Utilize Maximo (CMMS) for work orders and daily maintenance tracking.
+ Use TIMS for timekeeping and reporting.
+ Perform basic computer functions using Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Adhere to safety protocols and always wear proper PPE in chiller plant environments.
+ Climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds as required by the job.
Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma
+ Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in chiller systems maintenance.
+ Universal EPA 608 Certification (Required).
+ Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with York and Carrier centrifugal chillers.
+ Strong electrical knowledge applicable to HVAC systems.
+ Proficient with computerized maintenance systems and standard office software.
+ Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
+ Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Working Conditions:
+ Must be able to work onsite daily.
+ Work involves physical activity, including lifting, climbing, and working in plant environments.
+ Occasional exposure to loud environments, refrigerants, and mechanical equipment.
