Rincon Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented, entry-level **Environmental Intake Analyst** to join our growing Environmental Sciences team. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates with a degree in environmental science or a related field who enjoy working with data, organizing complex information, and supporting fast-paced projects that protect natural resources. In this role, you’ll support major utility clients across California and gain hands-on experience in project planning and environmental screening. With on-the-job training and close collaboration with technical staff, this position offers a strong foundation for future growth into roles in **biology, permitting, compliance, or project coordination** **.**
While this role may offer flexible work arrangements that can include a mix of in-office and remote work, our changing business needs will ultimately determine our level of remote-work flexibility. Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we prioritize hiring those who reside within 50 miles of a Rincon office which currently includes: Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Serve as an **intake analyst** supporting a large utility client program, including coordinating with a team of analysts, subject matter experts, and project managers.
+ Organize, manage, and analyze projects in the planning phase and provide environmental clearance
+ **Coordinate the intake of project requests** , tracking their progress through internal systems and ensuring timely delivery of work products.
+ **Collaborate with project managers and project stakeholders on project design and scope of work**
+ Facilitate subject matter expert reviews and completion of environmental compliance documentation.
+ Work with technical staff to **summarize environmental data** for use in reports, plans, and permit applications.
+ Assist with preparation and submittal of technical reports, including formatting, quality control, and data integration.
+ Manage a large database and maintain project documentation to **support project planning** .
+ Collaborate with team leads on **scheduling, task coordination, and project planning** .
+ Perform other administrative or project-related duties as assigned.
This Job Might Be for You If You Have the Following:
+ A **Bachelor’s degree** in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
+ A passion for **organization, data entry, and process improvement** .
+ Direct experience using **EHSync** or a similar management system to track, input, or manage environmental data is highly preferred.
+ Basic understanding of California’s flora, fauna, and environmental regulatory frameworks (a plus, not required).
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to **stay on top of multiple data streams or document workflows** .
+ **Excellent written and verbal communication skills** , especially when documenting or interpreting scientific data.
+ Proficiency with **Microsoft Excel and Word** ; familiarity with GIS or GPS tools is a bonus.
+ Comfort working both independently and collaboratively on task-oriented, deadline-driven projects.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000–$70,000, plus a generous benefits program. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
