Position Summary
This position is responsible for the timely execution of Distribution Center process flow while maintaining safety, quality & financial controls. This individual will manage processes associated with planning, directing, & monitoring all warehouse activities including:
• Shipping & receiving
• Material handling & storage
• Order fulfillment, pick/pack
• Packaging
• Inventory integrity & records management
• Billing
This person will also be responsible to track Distribution Center & team member performance metrics and plans/executes continuous improvement initiatives. The teammate will also be asked to help promote & role model a positive teammate culture.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborates with manager to execute strategies to promote the safety, welfare, & productivity of Firestone people, assets, and business.
+ Promotes a culture of safety, learning, & continuous improvement. Acts as role model.
+ Directs work tasks for operating team members. Assumes supervisory responsibility in absence of manager or supervisor.
+ Sets day to day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and executes strategies to meet DC team goals & support of plant.
+ Utilizes problem solving skills to solve issues that may arise, also recommends changes within DC policies/procedures.
+ Maintains customer returnable packaging process, including recordkeeping and reporting.
+ Gathers data necessary to report KPI’s. Evaluates KPI performance and recommends and/or implements corrective actions when necessary.
+ Ensures accurate and timely SAP transactions, physical moves, and cycle counts to support inventory and financial integrity.
+ Coordinates with plant, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction.
+ Ensures all DC operations comply with and support Quality & Environmental Management Systems.
+ Produces data reports, queries, & other information to use for tactical & strategic decisions.
+ Coordinates inbound and outbound shipments (plant shuttle, LTL, TL, parcel, air, international). Works with carriers to resolve issues.
+ Identifies and manages continuous improvement projects from SQD and lean initiatives. Participates on joint projects with plant, customer service, sales, LSCM, and customers.
+ Internal quality audits and related document control.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, or 3+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, warehousing, supply, or transportation.
Experience with SAP or other ERP system.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office software.
