Job Description Summary
EA Tubes Business Team Leader for the MPP Department (Machining & Part Processing). Leader will be responsible for all safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics for the MPP department. This includes driving safety actions to improve department safety including injury & risk reductions; implementing a six sigma quality culture to improve factory yield & tube life; deploying kaizen to improve OTD metrics; managing department costs including managing tradeoffs between priorities; and owning employee development for the area. Additionally, the BTL is responsible for the strategic vision for the department that will delivery YoY growth/productivity.
The MPP Department is one of the three business teams within the EA Tubes Facility. The department is responsible for the fabrication of all components produced at the site including processes such as machining, brazing, casting, welding, cleaning, etc. The EA Tubes team has been expanding to support growth across the entire site. This growth is driving numerous opportunities to reshape the site into the future of GEHC Tube Manufacturing.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Safety: Owns all safety metrics for the department including continuous improvement to drive risk reduction & injury prevention.
+ Quality: Leverage Lean Six Sigma mindset to deliver product quality improves resulting in scrap reductions and better field quality.
+ Delivery: Responsible for on-time delivery and inventory of department.
+ Cost: Deliver financial results aligned with productivity targets and budget. Own productivity roadmap to delivery sustained YoY improvements.
+ People: Foster a culture focused on people development.
+ Work cross-functionally with QA, AME, and Engineering teams to deliver department/site goals.
+ Lead compliance efforts in support of plant goals.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years production/supply chain leadership.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
+ Demonstrated ability to identify/implement best practices and deal with high levels of ambiguity
Desired Characteristics
+ Experience working in regulated industry
+ Design or manufacturing engineering experience
+ Functional manager experience
