This is a hybrid role available in Titusville, NJ or Horsham, PA. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. We invite candidates from any location to apply.
**Purpose:** The Associate Director, Data Operations & Strategy role is integral to building out, evolving, and upgrading J&J’s approach to delivering insights and analytics capabilities within the Innovative Medicine U.S. organization, with a focus on Neuroscience. This role requires strong leadership and proven ability to work across a broad range of key stakeholders and strategic partners to deliver a re-imagined data platform to support artificial intelligence, analytics and reporting across all engagement channels. The Associate Director will partner with a team of internal and external partners, including J&J technology services.
The Associate Director will also partner with procurement, internal StAT leadership, and vendor partners to ensure the platform operates within budget.
Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of syndicated and non-syndicated data from receipt to distribution of end products. Manage all business rules and gain consensus for update/changes in central business rule environment. Monitor/Define necessary Quality Control processes for Data Eco-System. Provide oversight and governance of the associated data. Act at primary contact for data processing vendor and internal I/T and Commercial teams.
You will be responsible for:
+ Timely and accurate processing of syndicated and non-syndicated data from receipt to distribution of end-product for Neuroscience CAPLYTA market data.
+ Evaluates new data sources, manages current inventory of data, ensures appropriate usage of data, and establishes metrics to measure the total quality of all data processes (Data Governance Standards).
+ Manage processes to support acquisition, onboarding, and continued execution of Syndicated (i.e., Retail, Non-Retail, Claims) and Specialty Pharmacy data assets.
+ Monitor transfer of sub-national data to outside vendors to assure proper security processes are established and followed.
+ Perform Data Governance Stewardship role with business as subject matter expert acting as liaison between IT and Business Partners to proactively resolve data issues and efficiently manage data as an asset.
+ Understand and evaluate impact of data events/changes on analytic systems and engage business process owners and data stewards to align on the action plan/next steps.
+ Collaborate with technical support, developers, and consultants to prioritize and resolve complex technical issues.
+ Work with partners to document known solutions to an internal and external knowledge base.
+ Provide meaningful insights to improve the customer experience for key stakeholders as well as optimize business decisions for the support team and other teams.
+ Provide effective leadership for staff: day-to-day administrative and technical direction of onshore and offshore personnel; work with vendor partner on assignment of staff personnel to appropriate functions/tasks/duties to ensure optimal resourcing.
+ Establish or improve procedures and controls, where necessary, to ensure that all services meet production schedules.
+ Work collaboratively with Operations, Upstream, Downstream and Partner Strategy teams, helping to prioritize business information needs.
+ Manage release and sprint plans for ongoing delivery of Data Products
+ Translate business needs into technical requirements.
+ Collaborate with Data Product Technical Manager to onboard and optimize data sources.
+ Define and support SIT/UAT with clear requirements and quality checks.
+ Lead UAT with SMEs to validate readiness and usability.
+ Maintain Marketplace content, user guides, and documentation.
+ Ensure alignment with governance and data quality standards.
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ BA/BS undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Technology, Analytics or Health Sciences is required. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
+ 8-10 years of experience required. Validated experience of 7+ years in roles related to data management, analytics, insights, or other commercial analytics areas within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
+ Proficient in data sources/products and expertise in using Pharma industry syndicated/secondary data from leading vendors - IQVIA, Symphony Health, Veeva, Definitive Healthcare, American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), Specialty Pharmacy, etc.
+ Experience with Neuroscience related data a plus.
+ Preferred experience utilizing MDM tools sets such as Informatica, Reltio and the appropriate use and application within an MDM solution.
+ Strong analytical toolkit is required, including modern business intelligence tools and infrastructure that allow for effective management of large data, as is proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
+ Proven results as a project manager in cross-functional technology projects required.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including ability to simplify complex technical issues.
+ Customer focus with building relationships, issue identification and resolution, problem-solving and project management skills.
+ Detail-oriented and results-driven.
+ Ability to apply policies and standards consistently.
+ Vendor management (outsourced program management team)
+ Working knowledge of tools and systems that allow for effective management of large data sets is required.
+ Strong understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata, and data management.
+ Knowledge of existing and emerging data sources and data vendors in Pharma Commercial domain is preferred. Example: RWE/HEOR, IDN/ACO Affiliations, EMR/EHR, SPP, retail, non-retail, IMS, SHA etc.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$137,000 - $235,750
