    We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Director, Scientific Affairs Strategy & Operations to be located in Titusville, NJ.

     

    This role reports to the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs Strategy & Operations, and will effectively connect strategy and execution for strategic programs and budget management activities. This role supports both Scientific Affairs (SA) and Medical Affairs (MAF) leaders in achieving their business objectives. Additionally, the individual will lead the SA team through budget cycles, collaborating with SA Leadership and Finance to ensure the fiduciary needs are met, allowing SA to drive forward the team’s vision and mission.

     

    This is a critical leadership role within the team and the preferred candidate will possess strong financial acuity / budget management experience, coupled with experience in driving transformational strategic initiatives aligned to the highest business priorities.

     

    Key responsibilities will include delivering high-priority projects across SA and MAF, necessitating extensive skills in project planning, execution tracking, reporting, and communication management. It will also involve team member engagement, risk identification, and the management of organizational change. The Associate Director will support Scientific Affairs budget tracking and play a leadership role in business planning activities for SA.

     

    To achieve success in this role, significant collaboration with functional and enterprise partners is critical. The ideal candidate embodies a strong intellectual curiosity and has a proven track record of optimally navigating business challenges and opportunities, driving broad impact.

They possess a deep understanding of organizational change principles and strategic stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Serve as the end-to-end Project and Change Leader for complex initiatives, guiding projects from conception through to successful completion.

    + Implement best-in-class methodologies, including charter development, scope definition, maintenance of project plan, facilitation of project team meetings, and customized reporting of project metrics.

    + Lead high-performing project teams to ensure alignment with project objectives, delivering results on time and within budget.

    + Orchestrate the annual development and execution of the Scientific Affairs Business Plan, collaborating across teams and functions to ensure alignment on funding and strategic investments.

    + Partner with finance to lead budget updates / reconciliation and financial closing activities.

    + Support updates to Finance as required by the financial calendar (e.g. Latest Thinking and annual forecast submissions, budget reclass and cross charge activities),

    + Work with SA program owners to track project spend, providing monthly updates to senior management at Leadership Team meetings

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

    + A post-graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MA, MS) is preferred

    + Professional project management (e.g. PMP), organizational change (e.g. PROSCI), or Six Sigma (e.g. Green Belt) certifications are preferred.

    Experience and Skills:

    + A minimum of 3-5 years project management and process development experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required

    + Experience leading all aspects of budgets and financial activities is required

    + Experience in finance / P&L Management coupled with project management experience is preferred

    + Strong execution experience with the ability to mobilize teaems to deliver high priority initiatives ontime and within budget

    + Possesses a partnership approach to facilitate alignment across teams, functions, and individuals

    + Effectively interacts at all levels

    + Highly proficient in MS excel and other MS office suite with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

    Other:

    This position may involve up to 10% travel to support project teams at multiple sites/locations.

     

    + The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. ·

    + Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

    + Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

    + This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

    + Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

    + Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

    + Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

    + Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
