Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

What will you do?

Use inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, invoice reconciliation and backorder processing,

Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various reports to ensure contractual requirements are met

Proactively connect with the supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems and optimally address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.

Engage in process improvement activities

May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

+ Preferably 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting

+ Experience working in customer service is also a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Able to read, write, and speak English fluently

Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values, including confidentiality.

Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.

Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.

Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The role may involve working in areas with chemical-based allergens such as penicillin and tetracycline. Proper PPE will be required, which may include: lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes. There is expected to be routine lifting or moving packages up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs using proper techniques, as well as using material handling equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, and forklifts, with push/pull efforts up to 100 lbs. There may be frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing steps, and assisting with staging or checking order accuracy in environments with varying temperatures. Willingness to work occasional overtime, holidays, or weekend shifts as needed is required.
