Job Description
AECOM is seeking highly qualified **Resident Engineers** to lead construction inspection and contract administration activities on transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the primary representative on-site, overseeing contractor performance and verifying compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations
+ Manage daily inspection activities, field staff, and project documentation
+ Coordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, municipal stakeholders, contractors, and AECOM project management
+ Monitor project schedule, budget, and quality metrics, proactively addressing issues as they arise
+ Review and process contractor submittals, requests for information, and change orders
+ Prepare progress reports, maintain accurate records, and participate in project meetings
+ Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental compliance requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ NICET Level IV certification in Transportation/Highway Construction
+ The ideal candidates will have significant prior experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) projects
+ Proficiency with NJDOT and NJTA specifications, policies, and construction administration procedures
+ Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection and contract administration experience on transportation projects half of it in the capacity of Resident Engineer
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey
+ Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
+ Familiarity with electronic project management and documentation systems (e.g., Primavera, CapEx, NJDOT Site Manager)

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $145,000.00 - $190,000.00.
