This is an excellent opportunity for second-year students in a registry-level respiratory care program to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, high-quality clinical environment.

    Job Responsibilities

    Under general supervision, you will:

    + Perform routine and intensive respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing.

    + Manage critical care equipment and assist with discharge planning.

    + Provide patient education and participate in care planning for patients from neonatal through geriatric populations.

    + Serve as a key member of critical care response teams, including Code Blue, Rapid Response, Trauma Alert, and Cardiac Alert.

    + Support patient-centered care in a collaborative, respectful environment.

    Required Qualifications

    + Must hold a Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the Iowa Department of Public Health OR be a second-year student in a registry-level program in good standing.

    + Must pass certification-level exams offered by the NBRC OR be a second-year student in a registry-level program in good standing.

    + If hired after January 1, 2016, must pass registry-level exams offered by the NBRC within 12 months of employment to advance into the Registered Respiratory Therapist role OR be a second-year student in a registry-level program in good standing.

    + Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
