    What You'll Do

     

    Laboratory technician in support of a principal investigator whose research focuses on developmental neuroscience, chromatin regulation, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Perform complex experimental procedures and techniques in neuroanatomy, molecular biology, biochemistry, and rodent genetics. Perform animal husbandry and maintenance of animal colony. Training and onboarding of laboratory personnel. Order supplies and consumables, perform routine laboratory maintenance, ensuring compliance with university safety regulations, development of study protocols and application for institutional approvals. Assist with grant writing and submission of federal and foundation applications.

    The Michigan Neuroscience Institute was established in 1955 to bring together investigators from across the University of Michigan campus to probe the mysteries of the brain on a cellular, molecular, and behavioral level.     Required Qualifications*

    Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience required.

    Desired Qualifications*

    Experience animal husbandry, genotyping, molecular biology, training and onboarding of laboratory personnel, assisting grant writing and submission of federal and foundation applications.

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
