    Required Skills:

    Data Scientist, Product Responsibilities:

    1. Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the design and development of Meta products.

    2. Apply expertise in machine learning, large language models, quantitative analysis, and the presentation of data to go beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and business products.

    3. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to build, train, and evaluate advanced models, including Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and others, ensuring the protection of billions of users and businesses.

    4. Inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and product launches.

    5. May be assigned projects in various areas including, but not limited to, product operations, exploratory analysis, product influence and data infrastructure.

    6. A strong statistical foundation, including proficiency in inference methods, is required to build sophisticated measurement products.

    7. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    8. Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Science, or a related field

    9. Requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis in the following:

    10. 1. Knowledge and techniques in ML and LLM training, evaluation, and application

    11. 2. Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets

    12. 3. Data querying language: Strong proficiency in SQL

    13. ability to write efficient, complex queries to retrieve, analyze, and process data from relational databases

    14. 4. Scripting language: Expertise in Python for data manipulation, automation, and model development

    15. 5. Statistical or mathematical software: proficiency in one of the following: R, SAS, or Matlab

    16. 6. Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing and causal inference, in an industry setting

    17. 7. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

    18. 8. Relational databases: strong understanding of schema design and optimizing database performance and efficiency

    19. 9. Large-scale data processing infrastructures using Hadoop, Spark, or other distributed systems, AND

    20. 10. Quantitative analysis techniques, including one of the following: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics

    Public Compensation:

    $215,372/year to $235,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits
