SR. GENERAL MANAGER AT PRIMEFLIGHT
The Senior General Manager (SGM) is a director-level leader responsible for overseeing a large-scale cargo handling operation, typically with oversight of 700 or more employees. This high-impact and high-visibility role requires advanced strategic and operational leadership across all facets of the business, including 3PL logistics, customer service, warehouse management, operations excellence, and distribution services, to ensure efficient and safe cargo operations. The SGM will be the primary interface at our most important gateways with our mission critical clients, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service, safety, compliance, and financial performance. In this role, the SGM is accountable for driving growth, maintaining service excellence, and cultivating a high-performance culture in a complex, fast-paced environment. The position also involves steering long-term planning initiatives and cross-functional alignment across multiple departments and operating units.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Oversee all operational aspects of the company, including ground handling, customer service, and maintenance
+ Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
+ Manage and lead a diverse team of department leaders and supervisors
+ Monitor operational performance measured against key performance indicators and objectives
+ Liaise with airlines, airport authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and effective collaboration
+ Drive business growth through innovative service offerings and strategic partnerships
+ Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
+ Ensure adherence to industry regulations and safety standards across all operations
+ Handle crisis management and emergency response planning
+ Foster a company culture focused on safety, quality service, and continuous improvement
+ Manage customer relations and address escalated customer service issues
+ Partner with human resources, including recruitment, training, and performance management
+ Stay informed of industry trends, advancements, and competitive landscape
+ Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and public forums
+ Lead initiatives to enhance sustainability and environmental responsibility in operations
+ Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 18 years of age or older
+ Eligible to work in the United States
+ Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
+ Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
+ Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
+ Advanced skills in strategic planning, financial oversight (including P&L), labor management, and customer success
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, with the capacity to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization
+ Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
+ Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
+ Pass a background check and drug screen
+ Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
