    Responsibilities

    + Conduct Comprehensive, Culturally Sensitive Assessments: Perform physical, psychological, behavioral, spiritual, and environmental evaluations using developmentally appropriate approaches.

    + Deliver Holistic, Evidence-Based Care: Provide patient-centered care across the lifespan using clinical knowledge in growth, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nursing management.

    + Communicate and Collaborate Effectively: Engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate compassionate care and support shared decision-making.

    + Promote Education and Health Literacy: Educate patients and families using appropriate teaching strategies based on age, culture, preferences, and readiness to learn.

    + Ensure Quality, Safety, and Outcome Monitoring: Apply evidence-based interventions, monitor outcomes, revise care plans, and maintain a safe, high-quality care environment.

    + Support Transitions and End-of-Life Care: Facilitate safe discharges, palliative care, and caregiver support, respecting patient values and preferences.

    + Demonstrate Professional Judgment and Leadership: Supervise care teams, manage complex patient needs, and maintain accountability for care outcomes.

    + Engage in Lifelong Learning and Self-Care: Participate in professional development, emergency preparedness, and self-care practices to ensure resilience and adaptability.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

    Experience:

    Patient Care Tech or Certified nursing assistance experience preferred, but not required

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state.

     

    Must be licensed in state of residence.

     

    Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support, (ACLS), completion of a hospital approved crucial care course

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.

     

    Multicultural sensitivity.

     

    Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

     

    Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
