    Overview

     

    Kimley-Horn is looking for a Geologist with 2+ years of experience to join our Harrisburg, PA office! This position is 50% fieldwork (travel) and 50% in office.

    Responsibilities

    + The main goal of this position is to assist clients with complex environmental issues, including contamination assessments and remedial planning.

    + Specific job activities include, but are not limited to: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, contamination assessments, remedial planning, compliance assistance and permitting.

    + Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.

    + Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

    + Travel required (approximately 50%).

    Qualifications

    + 2+ years relevant experience, including Phase I/II site assessments and site characterization

    + Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Geology, Environmental Science, or related majors

    + 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

    + Field work experience, including soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer test performance and analysis

    + Experience using Surfer, LogPlot, RockWorks, AquiferWin32 and Groundwater Vistas is a plus

    + Experience with Pennsylvania Act 2 Program is a plus

    + Phase I/II environmental site assessments

    + Possess strong technical writing skills and have knowledge writing detailed technical reports

    + Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS Pro

    + Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field

    + Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed

    + Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

    + Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines

    + Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment

    + Strong technical writing and organizational skills

    + The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
